How it began
From Inn to Tile Table
My husband and I run a small boutique inn and restaurant in the heart of Bath County, Virginia — a place built on the belief that the details matter, that hospitality is an art, and that the best moments happen when people gather around a table.
A few years ago, I carved out one afternoon a week to play mahjong with a group of ladies. What began as a break from the inn became a full-blown obsession. The tiles, the racks, the mats, the sets — the collection grew faster than I could keep up with.
One day it hit me: why not share it? I started renting my inventory to hosts who wanted to bring the game to their own gatherings. I began teaching new players the joy of American mahjong. And I kept right on selling sets at our inn gift shop.

Whether I'm setting up an open play table at the inn, teaching a first-time player how to call a tile, or styling a tablescape for a private event — I bring the same care to mahjong that we bring to everything at the inn. I simply love it all.
